The PlayStation Network

Introduced the same time as the PlayStation 3 in November 2006, SCE also launched PlayStation Network (PSN) which now operates in 59 countries and regions around the world. This service supports free community-centric online gameplay, exclusive games from indie developers and major publishers, and a broad range of entertainment applications across movies, music, and sports. PS3 owners have access to 170,000 downloadable digital content, including 57,000 game content worldwide from PSN. In October 2012, SCE redesigned the PlayStation Store for PS3, offering a more streamlined and accessible store experience. The new store is now available in Europe, North America and Latin America, with more countries and regions to follow.

A little bit of sharing here is about the PSN outage during April 2011, this is were the PSN had been hacked and here's is some information about the event.

The PSN Outage

The PlayStation Network had an outage which began on April 20, 2011 and affected 77 million registered accounts, is the longest amount of time the PSN has been offline since its inception in 2006. Sony acknowledged that the outage prevented users from having the "ability to enjoy the services provided by PlayStation Network and Qriocity including online gaming and online access to music, movies, sports and TV shows", making it temporarily unavailable.

The PlayStation Network outage was the result of an "external intrusion" on Sony's PlayStation Network and Qriocity services, in which personal details from approximately 77 million accounts were stolen and prevented users of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable consoles from playing online through the service.

The attack occurred between April 17 and April 19, 2011, forcing Sony to turn off the PlayStation Network on April 20. On May 4 Sony confirmed that personally identifiable information from each of the 77 million accounts appeared to have been stolen.

The outage lasted 24 days. At the time of the outage, with a count of 77 million registered PlayStation Network accounts, it was one of the largest data security breaches in history. On May 14, 2011, Sony began regionally restoring the PlayStation Network and released a mandatory security firmware update that required users to update their passwords. 

In June 2011, Sony launched a "Welcome Back" program following the outage, allowing all PSN subscribers who joined prior to April 20 to download two free PlayStation 3 titles and two free PlayStation portable games. Users also received 30 free days of PlayStation Plus, while users who were already subscribed before the outage got 60 free days.

We can access to districts, such as “Action District”, “Sportwalk”, “Indie Park” and ““Adventure District, brought to you by UNCHARTED 3 directly from Home Square. We will also go the “Shopping Mall” directly where you can enjoy shopping and “Home Theatre” to watch the latest game trailers via relocator at Home Square. Hello there. today I'm going to introduce to all of you a little bit of something that maybe a few of you have already know. Today we going to explore the electronic gaming console of Sony, that is the PlayStation 3 (PS3) from Sony Entertainment.

To keep things fresh, the PS3 has gone through three evolutions, with the latest sporting a more streamlined design, larger Hard Disk Drive (HDD) capacity and new features through software updates. In September 2012, SCE launched the new PS3 system, which has a reduced volume and weight of more than 50 percent compared to the original PS3 model, and 20 percent lighter and slimmer compared to the slim PS3 model launched in 2009.

I've been using the PS3 console system for about 3 years already. The reason that I bought the PS3 console at first is mainly to play the Play Station epic games, God Of War III (GOW3). There are also games that exclusively played only on the PS3. Here are some of the games listed as the PS3 exclusive games.

and this is the reason why I got myself a PS3.

PlayStation Move is a handheld controller with a glowing orb on the top that works in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye camera to track video game movements like punches, sword strokes, and tennis racket swings. The PSMove also has regular controller buttons for shooting games that require you to pull a trigger.

Sony says PSMove lets you use true-to-life movements, accurately tracks your actions, and then turns them into precise on screen movements. The PSMove will also give you physical feedback, like vibrations, similar to the Dual Shock controllers.

One of the major innovations with the PS3 is how the PlayStation Move motion controller has changed the way many games are played by offering users a more intuitive and engaging gaming experience. With more than 400 titles as of November 2012, consumers have an endless choice in games that take advantage of the Move controller.

 Game titles include Sports Champions that features archery, futuristic table tennis, and Roman Empire-style gladiator combat. There's also a TV game show title called TV Superstars; a kung fu fighting game called Slider; a bare-knuckle brawler called Dukes; a shooting game called The Shoot; and a family oriented game called Move Party, according to the PlayStation Europe blog.

Playstation Move uses PS Eye camera as well as light sensor from Playstation Move controller which will ensure accuracy, even if you're playing in the dark. You'll see that your movements will go flawlessly on the screen. Most games will be able to be enjoyed in full.

2. Playing while exercising

Who says that video games make you fat? Not at all. With the coming of PlayStation Move, you can play many PS3 games while exercising. There are many games you can choose, and there are many good PS Move fitness games that you can try. So, you'll be able to get fit while gaming.

3. More hardcore games

There are many hardcore games being released that are compatible with PS Move. For example, Killzone 3, SOCOM 4, Resident Evil 5, and so on. PS Move is not a controller for children. Yes, there are also many family and fun games that you can play. But, if you want more mature games, they're also available. Besides, developers are interested in developing more hardcore games for PS Move in the coming years.

4. It's more fun playing with friends

You can held a little party and let your friends to play Playstation Move games with you. It would be more fun. Instead of sitting in the chair, you can ask your friends to have fun exercising, dancing, playing sport games, and so on. This is how Playstation Move can make your little party more interesting and fun.

5. Cool and easy to use controller

The design of the controller itself is pretty cool. You can hold the controller comfortably in your hand. Also, there's an additional navigation controller that will help you to play the game more easily.
